We have been lucky to have nutritionist Liza Rowan as a guest lecturer to help us understand the importance of a balanced diet. Today, Liza talked about preservatives used in food, and healthier options.
Here are some student responses and intended actions:
Meghna: I will ask my mom to check the food labels before buying groceries because she does the shopping.
Simon: I looked up the recipe for choco banana bread, and am going to bake it!
Deegan: I feel worries because if I don't eat the right food, my body wont stay healthy.
Lars: I feel worries because if restaurants use chemicals in their food, I will freak out!
An: Food colouring makes us hyper and some colours are illegal in Norway and Sweden.
There are 2500 additives used in food today!!
Callum: I learnt that artificial colours are the bottom of list of ingredients in food labels and sugar and flour at the top.
Imogen: Try not to eat too much of food with colouring.
