Have you ever wondered what are the forms of energy?
Well in class, we have been researching about how energy work, and why is energy important. We can research about any energy with yourself or with a partner. My partner and I inquired into Hydro energy. After we researched, we made a poster.
This week, the whole class made catapults to understand how energy is transformed. We followed the scientific method , and used very simple little materials. Those materials were…7 Wooden Sticks, 4 Marshmallows (Not for eating), 1 Plastic Spoon and No tape
I was partnered with Sanjita. Our main question was, -----> Out of the ping pong ball, blu tack ball, and the foam ball, which goes the furthest distance? We estimated that the foam ball would go the furthest because it was pretty small, and we didn’t know how much it weighed. The answer is that the ping pong ball could actually go the furthest distance.
think it went the furthest distance because it is very light, and it is hollow inside. It went 162 cm! The blu tack was the least furthest with the distance of 46 cm! The first few times we tried to catapult it, it never budged, because it was stuck to the plastic spoon! Finally it managed to go. The foam ball went up to 140 cm.
View life from the lens of a 10 year old, and it will bring much humour and joy. That sums up my experience with my grade 5 students at ISS.
