I really enjoy doing Unit and Inquiry this week because we had fun doing role play about the reasons for Migration and act it out!
Aika, shabiya, keitaro and I did a role play about three push factors - civil war, tsunami, which is natural disaster and a role play about a pull factor - Singapore had a better education!
Push means forced to move and pull means come to this country or place. My part was being migrants. Once we were done practising our role play we had to present and the audience had to guess if our situation was pull or push.
The other groups also had to present their role play to the audience. I was being a risk-taker when we did the role play with my group because we had to present to the audience.
I was being Inquirer because I enjoy learning new things when we did the role play!!!
DAVID'S BLOG POST:
Zheng He and his Treasure Fleet
It is incredible how someone who lived in the dark ages and reached South Africa even before the Europeans even put foot on it’s soft bay of sand with a ship 6 times bigger than the biggest European ship of the 1700s. And that boat was called The Treasure Dragon.
Ms. Yanping told us more about Zheng He and his treasure fleet that brought many Chinese people to South Asia. It was great and interesting, but all our favorite was the National Geographic documentary.
I enjoyed this week talking to my friends because I made friends in G5 . I like friends because friends is so kind. And talking to them is so fun.
This week we have done something most exciting and I can’t wait to tell all of you people.
McKayla,Evangelina & ME (Aroha) were together in one group.
We made a play on Refugees I and Evangelina were the children and McKayla was our mother we had lots of fun making the play. We had to move from India to Singapore because India has lots of pollution. So on our way we passed different kinds of dangers just like what refugees face on their ways to other countries. We started off in Mumbai and we finally found ourselves in Singapore even if refugees are not allowed. They allowed us.
View life from the lens of a 10 year old, and it will bring much humour and joy. That sums up my experience with my grade 5 students at ISS.
