The highlight of the week was the poetry recital and the final formation of Exhibition groups.
For the recital, a majority of the students performed poems written by them using various literary devices.
It took courage to overcome their inhibitions and perform before an audience. Way to go, 5.1!!
Today we had to do a poetry recital. 5.1 ( my class ) and 5.2 had to share our poems to our parents and each other. When I was on stage I honestly felt nervous and scared, now I feel happy. My poem was about being afraid of the dark, it was called “The unseen side of the dark”. I felt like I couldn’t speak and that I just wanted to run off the stage. Overall, I think I did quite okay.
This experience was honestly sort of fun, once I got off the stage I felt better because I was just happy I got the presenting done and over with.
I actually felt kind of proud that I managed to speak in front of a large group of people.
I wrote a poem on bullying and when I started presenting I felt very frustrated and nervous to go up in front of everyone in Grade 5 but when I was up there I actually felt more and more proud, confident but I messed up in the middle but I guess nobody noticed. I liked presenting and Ms. England's speech at the end. It was fun.
View life from the lens of a 10 year old, and it will bring much humour and joy. That sums up my experience with my grade 5 students at ISS.
