TUVA's Blog post: I felt like I was a risk taker and a reflective person because we took a risk to make an elephant sculpture, but it didn’t work. At least we tried, but now we are making an elephant in the garden. I am also reflective because I listened to other ideas like when we were going to make an script for the stage performance. I was writing and listening to Xian Hang and Praveen’s ideas!
I could improve by doing things more quicker!

AZUSA'S Post: Two IB learner profiles that I’ve shown are : Inquirer -Because when I have a little time, I’m reading some websites about my Exhibition to get some information.
Reflective: When I went back to my house, I always think about what I did in school today and what can I do in my house now. I also plan about what can I do in school tomorrow.
Students in grade 5.1 are buzzing with creative ideas, excitement and anticipation of the upcoming Exhibition.
Hina, Hanna and Raymond are inquiring into the effects of Music on learning. For the past week they have been conducting a scientific experiment with controlled variables. Every day, during Math lessons, they have played Music for ten minutes and then recorded student response. They have then record their observations and written conclusions. This will go on for ten days before they arrive at a conclusion and test their hypothesis.
Meanwhile, Raymond, (above) is applying his understanding of coding to create his own computer game. The music for the game has been created by Hina and Hanna. Talk about collaboration!
Koji has designed and created a nail puller using a simple machine. He is inquiring into technology and machines and how they have made our lives easier.
Keagan and Koji have designed and created a motorised car. The car moves, but needs a body and a hood. The duo are in the process of making sketches of designs that will work. Their car is called: Mark 2
Inspired by the Hawk Eye used in tennis and baseball games, below, Azusa, Koji and Keagan are working with their mentor Nathan, to come up with a way to use technology in sports in school.
Ikram, Mirai and Steven who are inquiring into climate change and pollution are collecting E Waste in the school. They have set up a box in the ES office and have made presentations to various classes in an effort to collect E Waste. The E waste will be delivered to Virogreen, a local company.
The group also plan to make a book to educate others.
Raphael, Sangje and Toma have designed and created a drone (futuristic) that can be used to rescue animals in the wild.
Tuva, Praveen and Xianhang have collected used plastic bottles for ten days and are planning to create a sculpture of an elephant to draw attention to ivory trade.
HINA - I finished take video of “how to teach math with music” and put in the music to game with group. And I finished wrote the science experiment Day 5 report.
I feel very tired, because I using the computer in the school and also at home. And I look and read the English very much. So, I am very tired.
View life from the lens of a 10 year old, and it will bring much humour and joy. That sums up my experience with my grade 5 students at ISS.
